    Carl Russo , , , President and Chief Executive Officer

    Carl is president and CEO of Calix and a member of the board of directors. Carl has over 30 years of experience in the networking and telecommunications industries. Prior to taking an active role with Calix in December 2002, Carl was a member of the Calix board of directors. Before that, Carl was vice president of optical strategy and group vice president of optical networking for Cisco. Carl joined Cisco in 1999 as a result of the acquisition of Cerent Corporation, where he was president and CEO. Before Cerent, Carl was COO at Xircom (later acquired by Intel), where he was responsible for sales, marketing, development, and manufacturing of all Xircom products. Carl has also held executive management positions at Network Systems Corporation (later acquired by StorageTek) and at AT&T Paradyne. At Network Systems, Carl was the senior vice president and general manager for the Hyperchannel Networking Group, and at AT&T Paradyne he was vice president and general manager of the data networking products division. Carl attended Swarthmore College and served on its board of managers.

    Michael Weening , , , Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing

    Michael is the executive vice president of sales and marketing for Calix. Michael has over 20 years of experience leading sales growth, strategy and transformation having held executive positions in North America, Europe and Asia. He joined Calix from Salesforce.com where he was the senior vice president of Global Customer Success, and also held the role of senior vice president, Japan and Asia-Pacific Customer Success, Services and Alliances residing in Tokyo. Previously, Michael held leadership roles at Bell Mobility in Canada, where he was vice president of business sales. Prior, Michael held sales leadership roles at Microsoft, in Canada and London, U.K. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, from Brock University.

    Matt Collins , , , Chief Marketing Officer

    Matt is chief marketing officer (CMO) for Calix, leading all corporate, field, and product marketing. Over the course of his career, he has built and led marketing and strategy teams at Dun & Bradstreet, IBM, McKinsey and Merck. Most recently, as SVP global marketing and go-to-market strategy at Dun & Bradstreet, Matt built D&B’s enterprise marketing capabilities and led the launch of its new cloud solutions and Global Lines of Business. Prior to joining D&B, he spent over a decade at IBM in senior Marketing and Strategy roles across IBM’s Software, Hardware and Services businesses. While at IBM Matt also led several cross-IBM “Smarter Planet” growth initiatives including Smarter Computing, Social Business and Smarter Workforce. While at McKinsey, he worked with many of the firms leading clients to help them transform their go-to-market strategies. Matt received his MBA from Harvard University and a B.A. from Dartmouth College.

    Gregory Billings , , , Senior Vice President, Services

    Greg is the senior vice president of services for Calix. Greg brings over 25 years of business transformation and growth experience that spans strategy, software BU management, marketing, sales, business and partner development, new business launches, operations, services, systems implementation and practice management. Greg joined Calix from Zebra Technologies where he was the vice president of Global Professional Services and Solutions. Greg joined Zebra Technologies through its acquisition of Motorola Solution's Enterprise Business, where he served as vice president of Global Solution Sales and Professional Services. Prior to Motorola Solution's Enterprise Business, Greg has served as the Vice President of Avaya Global Professional Services, Division President & General Manager of Amdocs Customer Management Software Product Business Unit, Vice President in EY/Capgemini’s Telecom, Media & Entertainment Practice and as a Sales & Marketing Executive with Xerox. Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from The Colorado College.

    Mehdi Bradaran , , , Senior Vice President, Product Operations

    As senior vice president of product operations, Mehdi is responsible for all systems hardware development, manufacturing operations, supply chain management, and quality systems. Mehdi also oversees all aspects of the Calix Development Center operations in China. Mehdi has over 30 years of development and operations experience in the aerospace and telecommunications industries. Prior to joining Calix, Mehdi held management positions at DSC/Alcatel and led engineering teams in hardware development and system integration of next generation digital loop carriers. Mehdi has also held various development and management positions at Lear Astronics and PowerTec. He holds a BSEE from Utah State University and an MSEE from West Coast University.

    Michel Langlois , , , Senior Vice President, Products

    Michel is responsible for all systems product development and strategy across the Calix Unified Access portfolio. He has more than 25 years of experience in networking technologies, large-scale software development, and engineering management. Before joining Calix, Michel was Senior Vice President Junos software at Juniper Networks. Prior to Juniper, he served as Senior Vice President-Network Software and System Technology Group (NSSTG) responsible for the IOS software/platform at Cisco Systems. Michel has a BSEE from the Université de Sherbrooke in Quebec, Canada.

    Diane Prins Sheldahl , , , Senior Vice President, Talent and Culture

    Diane is senior vice president of talent and culture at Calix, and responsible for all human resources functions as well as promotion of "The Calix Way." Her experience spans a wide variety of companies, from start-ups to the Fortune 10, with focus in technology, aerospace, manufacturing, and healthcare. Prior to joining Calix, Diane held key human resources leadership positions at SpaceX, Hewlett-Packard, Honeywell, Archive.com, Emcore/Ortel, Agere Systems, Abbott Laboratories, and Gateway. She earned her MBA from UC Irvine and holds a BA in Industrial Relations from Syracuse University.

    Miguel Alonso , , , Vice President, Cloud Products

    Miguel is vice president of software products and leads the product marketing, product development, and network operations organizations responsible for the delivery of all Calix Software Products. Prior to his current role, Miguel held a variety of business and product management responsibilities at Calix. Miguel brings over 20 years of experience in the industry and perspectives from a number of different communications companies, including Advanced Fibre Communications (AFC), where he was director of sales, responsible for all sales activities in Latin America and the Caribbean. Miguel has also held engineering, technical marketing, and technical sales support roles at Phonic Ear, Olivetti and Hewlett Packard. Miguel has a Telecommunications Engineering degree from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Spain.

    Shane Eleniak , , , Vice President, Systems Products

    Shane is responsible for product strategy, positioning, and systems roadmaps at Calix. He has more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Prior to joining Calix, Shane was the Group Vice President of the Advanced Broadband Solutions (ABS) business unit at CommScope, responsible for all edge, access and CPE products within the Broadband Division. Earlier in his career, Shane was EVP of Marketing and Business Development for Alloptic where he guided product, sales and corporate strategy to deliver the industry's first 10G EPON and RFoG products. Shane previously held several key management positions in marketing, strategy, business development and engineering at such industry leaders as Corrigent Systems, Newbridge Networks, and Telus. Shane holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta.

    Suzanne Tom , , , Vice President General Counsel

    Suzanne is general counsel for Calix and oversees all legal and regulatory aspects of the company's business. A seasoned tech sector veteran, Suzanne provides a wealth of diverse experience in the practice of law to Calix. Prior to joining Calix, Suzanne was vice president, corporate legal and compliance at Verifone Systems, Inc. Previously, she held a number of legal and corporate roles at Latham and Watkins, the U.S. District Court of Northern California, ONI Systems, Turnstone Systems, and Ernst & Young LLP. Suzanne has a JD from UC Hastings College of the Law, a BS in Business Administration from UC Berkeley and qualified as a CPA with Ernst & Young.

    Jill Von Berg , , , Vice President, Information Technology

    Jill is vice president of information technology with responsibility for Calix IT strategy, enterprise applications, infrastructure, operations and information security. Jill joined Calix in 2010 with over 25 years multinational leadership experience in global high tech industries. Before joining Calix, Jill was vice president of Corporate IT at McKesson Corporation and held IT leadership positions at Hewlett Packard. Previously, Jill spent 10 years with ABB in Switzerland, where she built and led a worldwide IT shared services center for the ABB Group, and directed global technology programs for ABB Power. Earlier, Jill held various information systems management positions at GE Aircraft Engines, Ohio. Jill holds a BS in Engineering from the University of Leicester, England.

    Don Listwin , , , Chairman

    Don has served on the Board since January 2007 and has served as chairman since July 2007. He brings over 30 years of experience in the networking industry to the Calix board of directors. Don is founder and chairman of Canary Foundation, a non-profit organization devoted to the early detection of cancer. A veteran of the networking industry for more than 30 years, Don was CEO of Openwave from 2000 to 2004 and held senior executive positions at Cisco Systems between 1990 and 2000. Don currently serves on the board of directors of Violin Memory, a publicly held data storage company, as well as on the boards of D-Wave Systems, PLUMgrid, Robin Systems and Teradici Corporation (as chairman), each a privately-held company. Don also serves as an advisor to BDC, a Canadian financial institution focused on small and medium enterprises, and to Bugcrowd, a privately-held cybersecurity solutions company. Don holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and an honorary Doctorate of Law degree from the University of Saskatchewan.

    Christopher J. Bowick , , , Director

    Chris brings to the Calix board of directors extensive experience in advising and managing companies in the technology and telecommunications industries. Chris has held leadership positions at these cable companies: Cox Communications, Charter Communications, and Jones Intercable (now part of Comcast), as well as Scientific-Atlanta (acquired by Cisco), a manufacturer of cable television, telecommunications, and broadband equipment. Chris currently serves on the boards of directors of ViXS Systems and Minerva Networks. Chris earned an MBA from the University of Colorado in 1997, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1977.

    Kevin DeNuccio , , , Director

    Kevin DeNuccio has over 25 years of leadership experience at communications technology companies and service providers worldwide. Kevin is the president and chief executive officer of Violin Memory and a member of the Violin Memory Board of Directors. He joined Violin Memory in February, 2014. Kevin previously served as CEO of Metaswitch Networks from 2010 until June of 2012 when he transitioned to a director position on the Metaswitch Board. Prior to 2010, Kevin served as CEO of Redback Networks, where he helped the company become the fastest growing vendor in its market segment, leading to its $2.1 billion acquisition by Ericsson in 2007. From 1995 to 2001, he held a number of executive positions at Cisco Systems, including senior vice president of worldwide service provider operations. Prior to Cisco, Kevin was founder, president, and CEO of Bell Atlantic Network Integration, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bell Atlantic (now Verizon Communications). In addition to Calix and Metaswitch, he also currently serves on the Boards of SanDisk and Northeastern University.

    Michael Everett , , , Director

    Michael Everett has over 30 years of financial, legal, and general management experience, including two different stints in China. Prior to Michael’s retirement from Cisco in 2008, Michael served as a vice president of finance at Cisco Systems, Inc. and before that was chief financial officer of WebEx Communications prior to Cisco's $3.2 billion acquisition of the web collaboration leader. Prior to joining WebEx, Michael was chief financial officer of several public and private companies, including Netro Corporation, a broadband wireless equipment manufacturer that he led through a successful IPO in 1999, and Raychem Corporation, a Fortune 500 telecommunications and electronic components supplier. Before joining Raychem in 1987, he practiced securities law as a partner at Heller, Ehrman, White & McAuliffe. Michael holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

    Michael Flynn , , , Director

    Michael brings to Calix’s board of directors extensive experience in advising and managing companies in the technology and telecommunications industries. Michael has served in a variety of capacities including group vice president, at ALLTEL Corporation, an integrated telecommunications provider of wireless, local telephone, long-distance, competitive local exchange, Internet and high-speed data services. Michael serves on the Board of Directors at Airspan Networks, a publicly-traded company providing wireless broadband access equipment. He is a member of the board of directors, and audit and compensation committees, of Atlantic Tel-Networks, a publicly-held, diversified telecommunications services provider, and he is owner and president of Deli Planet Inc., a privately-held company. Michael previously served on the board of directors of WebEx Communications, Inc., Equity Media Holdings Corporation and iLinc, each a publicly-held company, and GENBAND Inc., a privately-held company. Michael earned his B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1970. He attended the Dartmouth Institute in 1986 and the Harvard Advanced Management Program in 1988.

    Kira Makagon , , , Director

    Kira brings to the Calix board of directors extensive experience in global product strategy, product management, engineering, operations and technology. Kira currently serves as Executive Vice President of Innovation at RingCentral. Before joining RingCentral , she founded and served as CEO and President of Red Aril, a pioneer in real-time audience and media optimization solutions. The company was acquired by Hearst. Kira served in various roles at Exigen Group, a provider of SaaS workflow platforms and call center solutions, including President, Ventures and Alliances, and Executive Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, as well as serving on the board of directors. Prior to that, she co-founded and held key executive positions in flagship online marketing and CRM companies—including Octane Software, which was acquired by E.piphany, and Scopus Technology, where she brought multiple generations of CRM products to market. Kira holds a BS in computer science and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.

    Michael Matthews , , , Director

    Michael brings to Calix's board of directors 30 years of experience in the technology industry, with a strong background in software, telecommunications and global markets. He has served on the Calix board directors since December 2010. He currently serves as Executive Chairman of MobileAware Ltd, a software company providing cloud-based, customer self-care solutions to some of the world’s largest mobile network operators. From 2008 to 2011 Michael served as Head of Strategy and Business Development at Nokia Siemens Networks, a telecommunications network company, where he directed the company's strategic planning and investments, mergers and acquisitions program and strategic alliances and partnerships. From 2003 to 2008 he served as Chief Marketing Officer at Amdocs Inc., a leading provider of software for telecommunications service providers. Prior to this, he served in leadership positions across technology companies in the United States, Europe and Australia. Michael also serves as an advisor to the TMForum, a global trade association with over 900 member companies including communication service providers, digital service providers and enterprises. Michael has a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Queensland, Australia.

    Kevin Peters , , , Director

    Kevin brings to the Calix board of directors a wealth of leadership experience gained over the course of a 28-year career with AT&T, one of world's largest communications companies. Kevin has held numerous leadership positions including most recently as executive vice president of global business customer service in which he led AT&T’s multinational customer service operation. Kevin’s prior positions with AT&T include chief marketing officer, business; executive vice president, global network operations; and senior vice president, enterprise systems and software engineering. Kevin earned his B.S. from Fairfield University and subsequently earned an M.S. from Stevens Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.
